Jon Hahn Columnist Born Feb. 8, 1940 Jon K. Hahn has been a general-interest columnist for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer since 1980. A Chicago native, he and his wife and son came to the Pacific Northwest in 1978, after he had spent almost a decade with The Chicago Daily News. At the Daily News, Hahn was a general-assignment reporter, sports and news rewrite, labor reporter and features writer. Before that, he covered politics, local government, social issues, etc. for the Evanston (Ill.) Review. for two years. And before that, he did public relations and tv film production for Michigan State University. He also has worked as a sheet metal mechanic, landscaper, window & store designer, lab technician, public relations assistant, hospital orderly, short order cook, roofer, grocery clerk, handyman and grave digger. He was educated in Chicago public schools, Elmhurst(Ill.) College, North Park College, and received a bachelor's degree in English from University of Illinois ('62) and master's degree in journalism ('64), and did graduate work in art and art history while on staff at M.S.U., East Lansing. He lettered in track & field at Carl Schurz High, Chicago, and at University of Illinois/Chicago. A resident of Woodinville, WA., Hahn is married to Judith J. Hahn, an artist. They have a son, Stefan, a music student at the University of Washington.
